Unistrut Trolley: A Better Approach to Overhead Mobility

Unistrut Trolley Assemblies

The Unistrut Trolley System provides greater efficiency, better economy and easier installation

What is the Unistrut Trolley System?

Composed of only three basic elements: trolleys, trolley track and trolley track hangers, Unistrut Trolley Assemblies are an easy to install, cost effective system for a variety of overhead mobility applications, including:Unistrut Trolley System

  • Barn doors
  • Sliding/panel doors
  • Gas line hoses
  • Hospital equipment
  • Patient Lifts
  • Welding Curtain
  • Athletic equipment
  • Art gallery displays
  • Material Transfer/Hoist

Trolleys are load bearing and capable of supporting a range of weights, from 10 pounds to 600 pounds. There are five basic styles of trolley, some with 2 wheels and some with four, to accommodate a range of speed and weight requirements, specific to your project.

Trolley wheels incorporate stainless steel bearings, which require no lubrication, making them maintenance free. **Nylon wheels, for light-duty applications, are also available for some models.

All trolleys are for use with 1-5/8″ width Unistrut channel, with a minimum depth of 1-5/8″. or deeper channel, and can also be used with the back to back channel (P1001). Check out our brand new YouTube video on the various mounting options for the Unistrut Trolley System.

In order to use the Unistrut Trolley with our most popular channel profile (Unistrut P1000, 1-5/8″ x 1-5/8″ trolley track channel), trolley track hangers must be used, as bolting through the channel would inhibit movement of the trolley along the inside of the trolley track.

Unistrut P1834 and P1834A channel trolley supports serve to keep the channel slot open so the trolley can run freely back and forth. It acts as a “saddle” of sorts so the trolley can run underneath and not hit the bolt that is connecting the channel to threaded rod drops. There are two options – Unistrut P1834 with a design load of 1,200 lbs., and a wider Unistrut P1834A with a design load of 2,500 lbs.

**Curtain sliders (Unistrut P5349) are still available, although not listed in the current General Engineering catalog.

Hello! I am looking for pricing on 20ft length of unistrut assembly to be used on second floor of a barn hoist system. I would need 2 sets of 4 wheel trolleys and 17 hangers.

I would imagine this system would be the P1834 style.

Can you give me an estimate for this?

    Thanks,
    Chris

I have to be able to lift 1000 lbs but if your biggest trolley can only whole 600 lbs how can I use the unistrut system for my hoist.i see your trolley supports can whole 1200 to 2500 but the trolley will have the full wt on it right. I’m going to put a hoist on your trolley so I can lift items up to the second floor from my cathedral garage bay to second floor of my next two bay’s.

That’s a great question Roger. Unistrut trolleys can be ‘ganged’ together to support heavier loads. If you need assistance coming up with a safe, effective design, please feel free to contact our customer service department via phone 1 (800) 285-3056. We’d be happy to help you out with that.
